It Takes A Village Good News Shout Out

Posted on Mar. 28, 2024  /  Rates / Fees, General Newsletter, SABS / FSRA  /  0

Dear colleagues,

In light of Tuesday's positive Budget announcement {2024 Budget}  {Auto insurance excerpt} some thank-you’ s are in order.  We’ve been working hard on this lobbying campaign since the fall, even as we face ongoing financial sustainability challenges. This would not be possible without the support of our members, whose dues keep the lights on, those whose donations {see below} lit the fuse for this campaign, our supporters whose contributions make our events and other activities possible, and our volunteer Board of Directors, who give their time and talents to working on behalf of all HSPs, including non-members (sigh), in the auto sector.

If you are a health service provider, who is reading this, check to see if you are on our members list , if you are not, then you are reading this because of the financial contributions of others. If you are happy about the recent announcements and want to ensure that the right changes are made please, please, please show us the money! Join the ORA - and become someone who helps make a difference.

Some special shout-outs to our boots (and-keyboards) on the ground HSP Rates Campaign Advocates:

John Barry, Pursuit Health

Lyndsey Dennis (Diakow), OT Ontario East

Nick Gurevich, FunctionAbility

Aaron Palmer, Palmer Wellness & Rehab

Kyle Whaley, Propel Physiotherapy

Hazel Wood, Rehab Results

Our generous and farsighted members, who contributed to the hiring of our lobbyist:

I also want to thank the inestimable Ralph Palumbo, of Hillcrest Consulting, whose GR expertise was the secret sauce, and Kris Cardoso, ORA Coordinator, Community Engagement for her work behind the scenes.

Stay tuned for more news as details emerge.

As always we welcome your thoughts.

Laurie Davis,
Executive Director
