TBI Report Card Community Providers Survey
Posted on Feb. 1, 2024 / General Newsletter / Subscribe 0
Dear providers of brain injury rehabilitation in non-OHIP funded sectors (e.g., auto insurance, WSIB, extended health, private pay, etc.),
We are reaching out to you today on behalf of the Provincial Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Report Card Working Group and the Neurotrauma Care Pathways Team to request your participation in a community provider survey (deadline extended to Feb 15th 2024). As part of the Neurotrauma Care Pathways Initiative, we have been pushing the Ministry of Health to understand the need for better community-based data and to fund a stronger infrastructure to support data collection. We need your assistance to demonstrate that data collection in the community is vital and possible. All privately-owned clinics and sole providers within Ontario are encouraged to respond, irrespective of ORA membership. Thank you to everyone who has already completed this survey.
Please click here to complete the survey (only one per organization or organizational division)
Background: A major barrier to understanding and improving TBI care quality and equity in Ontario is the lack of data integration across funding sources. Heavily siloed data between publicly funded and third-party funded care in Ontario has made system evaluation a challenge, resulting in a lack of community-level data that speaks to long-term outcomes, continuity of care, and availability of supports or resources. Thus, it is challenging to see the extent of care that is provided in the community, and can lead to the conclusion that very little community-based rehabilitative care is needed. Our goal is to bridge these data gaps to provide a better understanding of the entire TBI care system and identify where there may be areas for quality improvement.
This survey’s findings will represent third-party funded care and will be presented with the 2024 Report Card, which will be made publicly available on the brain injury guidelines website (https://braininjuryguidelines.org/onf/). It will also be submitted to the Ministry of Health as part of the Neurotrauma Care Pathways Project deliverables.
We expect this survey will take 30 minutes to complete. It has been developed in close consultation with the ORA and is being distributed across the province’s non OHIP-funded community-based providers. We ask that only one survey be completed per organization or organizational division. Please complete the survey by February 15th, 2024.
If you have any questions about the survey, feel free to get in touch with Arman Ali, of the Pathways team ([email protected]).
Please note that you will not be able to save and resume the survey at a later time; it must be completed in one sitting. Thank you very much for your time and support.
Thank You to our 2024 Sponsors.
Fueling the ORA's 2024 Activities with their generous contributions.
